WHAT IS “CRYOLIPOLYSIS”?
Cryolipolysis a non-invasive technique that provides a smoother body contour by freezing fat cells. Cryolipolysis procedure is also referred as cryogenic lipolysis, lipo freeze and commonly known as fat freezing.
HOW DOES FAT FREEZING BELLY TREATMENT WORK?
Fat freezing involves the application of a cooling paddle-like device to suction the treated area like a vacuum and cool fat cells down to a temperature around -9°C in order to trigger cell death. As fat is more temperature-sensitive than skin and other body cell types, the fat cells freeze before skin cells do. This non-invasive alternative to liposuction is suitable for mild but permanent fat sculpting. Only the fat cells are susceptible to cold temperatures, so the neighbouring tissues remain unaffected. After a cryolipolysis session, the dead fat cells are broken down and excreted.
IS A FAT FREEZING TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Cryolipolysis is not painful; most clients experience mild and temporary discomfort (pressure, warmth and coldness). In fact, some people have a nap during the procedure!
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OF LIPO FREEZE?
Although cryolipolysis treatment is a low-risk non-invasive procedure, some people may experience mild bruising, slight swelling, redness, itching or sensitivity – these side effects are temporary.
WHAT COUNT'S AS AN AREA ?
Each Cryo Handle used is classed as an area so for example a pair of flanks (love handles) would be classed as 2 areas, 1 for each flank.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Results are seen after one session, for most areas. Cyro has the advantage of not usually requiring a course of treatment, however some people with higher quantities of stubborn fat may choose to have two - three treatments. Depending on the thickness of the fat and your personal goals, fat freezing may be repeated the same for a second time, but is not always necessary. If you choose that you would like a further reduction in the same area, preferable waiting time between sessions is approximately 2 months. This is to give enough time to measure the effectiveness of the initial treatment.
Clinical trial data has shown for most people, a second treatment within about 2 months of the first treatment does lead to greater reduction.
How long does a session take?
A typical treatment takes 30 minutes’ maximum per area.
How much fat is expected to be lost in 1 session?
A 25%- 40% reduction of the body fat is the expected removal in one 30-minute session, per area.
ADVANTAGES OF CRYOLIPOLYSIS
As a completely non-invasive procedure, Cryolipolysis offers patients many benefits over other fat reduction procedures. Some of these benefits include:
POST TREATMENT CARE
After care advice is to increase your water intake, avoid caffeine and other toxins to support your body’s natural processes. However, please remember Cryolipolysis is not substitute for taking care of your body, and you should follow the simple aftercare advice.
You may feel more motivated to take care of yourself after the treatment; after all it is an investment. Combining Cryolipolysis with a healthy diet and lifestyle will only further maximise your result.
